    Before you begin the process of registering with the state, make sure you have access to the following information:

    Next, click the large green button at the bottom of the page, “Start Registration here,” and follow the prompts that walk you through the process of registering with the state of Missouri. Make sure to keep safe the registration confirmation number once the process is complete.  

     

    What Happens After You Apply for a Sales Tax Permit in Missouri?

    Keep in mind, once you have an active sales tax permit in Missouri, you will need to begin filing sales tax returns.     However, once you submit your permit registration to the state of Missouri, you can gain access to your online account shortly after 24 hours.  In order to do this, please go to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

    Once at this screen, you will select “Check Registration Status.” 

    At this point, you will enter the business FEIN and the confirmation number that you received when applying for your permit. A screen will then show you the account number and PIN number associated with your account.
