Step 1: The first step in filing your Washington, D.C. sales tax return is to log in at https://mytax.dc.gov/_/. Once you log in, you will be on your homepage.
If you do not have a username and password, you will need to click on “Sign-up to use MyTaxDC.gov” and then follow the instructions for signing up.
Step 2: Select the account you are filing the return for (Sales & Use Tax, in this case).
Step 3: Select the appropriate filing period.
Step 4: Start answering the questions and entering your sales data.
